A fresh controversy has emerged within an Ijaw music band following the publication of an alleged wage structure by a member of the logistics team, who says the disclosure is intended to address public concerns over claims relating to the payment of band members.

In a statement shared on social media, Mr. Ekisah John Perelado, who identified himself as part of the band’s logistics crew, said he decided to make public what he described as the payment structure for January 2026. According to him, the move was aimed at providing clarity regarding issues surrounding remuneration within the band and to respond to discussions a recent interview between a band member Agoroere and Mike Ekiye TV.

Mr. Perelado claimed that the band’s payment system is divided into six categories, with each class receiving different allowances and wages.

According to the figures he released, members in the First Class category receive a daily allowance of ₦8,000 and wages of ₦16,000, while the total payment for January amounted to ₦360,000. He explained that although 17 shows were scheduled during the period, payments were reportedly made for 14 performances, with all applicable allowances paid.

The statement further indicated that Second Class members receive a daily allowance of ₦7,500 and wages of ₦15,000, bringing the total payment to ₦337,500.

For the Third Class, the allowance was listed as ₦7,000, with wages of ₦14,000, amounting to a total payment of ₦315,000.

Members in the Fourth Class category were said to receive ₦6,000 as daily allowance and ₦12,000 as wages, with a total payout of ₦270,000.

The published breakdown also stated that Fifth Class members receive ₦5,000 as daily allowance and ₦10,000 as wages, amounting to ₦225,000, while Sixth Class members receive ₦4,500 as daily allowance and ₦9,000 as wages, with a total payment of ₦202,500.

Mr. Perelado added that the disclosed figures do not include any appreciation or gratuities that may be received by performers while on stage. He also asserted that an individual identified as Agoroere Anthony belongs to the Fifth Class category within the band’s payment structure.

As of the time of filing this report, the individuals mentioned in the statement, including Agoroere Anthony and Mike Ekiye, had not publicly responded to the claims. Consequently, the allegations and payment figures contained in the social media post remain unverified independently.

The development has generated discussions among followers of the band, with many calling for greater transparency and an official response from the band’s management to clarify the issues surrounding the alleged remuneration structure.
