Tinubu Has Performed Excellently in Three Years, Says Otuaro
PAP Administrator Hails President’s Economic Reforms, Security Gains, Niger Delta Development Initiatives

The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the third anniversary of his administration, describing the President’s performance over the past three years as outstanding and transformative.
Dr Otuaro stated that President Tinubu assumed office with a clear vision through his Renewed Hope Agenda and has since demonstrated courage, determination and commitment in addressing Nigeria’s socio-economic and security challenges.
The PAP Administrator made the remarks in a congratulatory message contained in a press release signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Igoniko Oduma, on Thursday, May 29, 2026.
According to Otuaro, the Tinubu administration has recorded significant achievements in economic recovery, national development, security enhancement and international diplomacy.
He noted that through decisive leadership and unwavering commitment to national aspirations, President Tinubu has placed Nigeria on the path of renewed growth and shared prosperity.
The PAP boss said the administration’s bold economic reforms, policies and programmes have helped stabilize the economy while strengthening the country’s security architecture to safeguard lives, property and economic assets.
He also commended the President’s diplomatic engagements and efforts at strengthening bilateral relations with foreign nations, saying the initiatives have attracted substantial foreign direct investments and boosted confidence in Nigeria’s economy.
“President Tinubu has restored the confidence of the international community in Nigeria, and the country is accorded respect among the comity of nations”, he said.
Dr Otuaro further highlighted the progress recorded in the fight against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta, attributing the successes to effective collaboration between security agencies and private security firms engaged by the Federal Government.
According to him, the synergy has contributed significantly to increased oil production and improved environmental protection across the oil-producing region.
He stated that Nigeria’s crude oil production output has risen from about 1.4 million barrels per day in 2023 to approximately 1.8 million barrels per day in recent times.
The PAP Administrator also praised President Tinubu for initiatives aimed at transforming the Niger Delta region and addressing longstanding developmental challenges.
He said the administration has fostered peace, stability and security in the region while creating opportunities for sustainable development.
Dr Otuaro specifically acknowledged the President’s support for reforms within the Presidential Amnesty Programme, noting that the intervention had strengthened the agency’s capacity to deliver on its mandate.
“The President’s backing of the reforms we have carried out in the PAP and his gracious approval of upward budgetary review have resulted in the expansion of educational scholarship opportunities, vocational training, and other initiatives.
“His unprecedented support has also helped us deepen our policy of inclusivity, fostered fruitful stakeholders’ engagements, and strengthened peacebuilding process for sustainable peace and development in the region. We owe all achievements to his fatherly support.”
Otuaro further listed several key projects and initiatives of the Federal Government that he said are positively impacting the South-South region.
Among them are the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway Project, the establishment of the South South Development Commission, the Federal University of Environment and Technology in Ogoniland, and the continued growth of the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko.
The PAP Administrator also reacted to President Tinubu’s emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for the 2027 general election following the party’s recently concluded presidential primary.
He described the outcome as a clear demonstration of the confidence reposed in the President by party members and grassroots supporters across the country.
According to him, the overwhelming support received by the President during the primary election indicates growing acceptance of his leadership and policies.
Dr Otuaro expressed optimism that Nigerians would renew the President’s mandate in the 2027 general elections, thereby enabling him to consolidate on the achievements recorded so far.
He also called on Niger Delta stakeholders and residents to continue supporting the administration and reciprocate what he described as the President’s commitment to the development of the region.
The PAP Administrator maintained that the continued support of the people would further strengthen ongoing efforts aimed at promoting peace, economic growth and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.

The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headed by Tanimu Turaki has rejected reports suggesting disagreements with its 2027 election candidates over the submission of nomination forms to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a statement issued by the faction’s leadership, the group described the reports as false and misleading, insisting that its governorship, National Assembly and state assembly candidates remain united and fully support the party’s leadership.
The faction explained that its candidates were duly nominated through internal party procedures and expressed confidence that the process complied with relevant electoral guidelines. It also maintained that there was no conflict between the party leadership and candidates regarding access to INEC’s nomination portal or the submission of candidates’ details.
According to the group, attempts to portray internal disagreements are part of efforts to create confusion and undermine its preparations for the 2027 general elections. It urged party members and supporters to disregard what it called unfounded speculation.
The Turaki-led camp reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing all lawful and constitutional measures to protect what it described as the mandate of its candidates. It added that the party remains focused on strengthening its structures and preparing for the upcoming elections despite the ongoing leadership dispute within the PDP.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed July 7, 2026, to hear all pending applications and the substantive suit filed by the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is seeking an order compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise the party’s interim National Working Committee led by Kabir Turaki.
The hearing date was set by Justice Salim Ibrahim after lawyers representing the parties agreed to exchange all outstanding court documents before the next sitting. The court directed that every process must be filed and served on or before July 6, warning that no further delays would be accepted.
In the suit, the PDP BoT is asking the court to compel INEC to update its official records to reflect the Turaki-led interim leadership ahead of preparations for the 2027 general elections. The plaintiffs argue that the electoral commission is legally obligated to comply with previous court decisions, which they claim nullified the party’s 2025 national convention and upheld the suspension of certain party officials.
The outcome of the case is expected to play a significant role in determining which leadership structure INEC officially recognises as the PDP continues efforts to resolve its internal leadership dispute before the next general election.

Political tensions are escalating across Nigeria as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the process for political parties to upload the names of their candidates for the 2027 general elections.
The development has sparked renewed leadership disputes, protests, and legal battles within several political parties, with rival groups competing for control of candidate nominations ahead of the submission deadline.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) remains at the center of the crisis. The faction currently recognized by INEC confirmed that it has received the commission’s access code and has already started uploading its list of candidates. Party officials expressed confidence that the exercise would be completed before the deadline.
However, the opposing faction insists it has not been granted access to the portal. It maintains that ongoing court proceedings will eventually determine the legitimate leadership of the party before the nomination process is concluded. The disagreement stems from a Supreme Court ruling that nullified the party’s previous national convention, leaving the PDP with parallel leadership structures. INEC has maintained that it will only recognize the faction backed by the courts.
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is also facing internal disagreements in some states. In Ondo State, groups of women and youths staged protests, alleging that the candidate list released after the party’s primaries did not reflect the actual outcome of the elections. The protesters accused some party leaders of attempting to impose candidates and demanded that the original results be respected.
Meanwhile, another faction within the APC defended the party’s leadership, arguing that reviewing the primary election results was necessary to address irregularities identified during the process.
Across the country, several political parties have confirmed receiving INEC’s access credentials and have begun uploading their candidates. Nevertheless, unresolved court cases and internal disputes continue to create uncertainty for some aspirants.
Smaller opposition parties, including the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), are also dealing with legal and administrative challenges as they work toward participating fully in the 2027 elections.
Political observers believe the candidate nomination exercise could trigger additional court cases and deepen internal divisions within parties before Nigerians head to the polls in 2027.
