Prominent Ogulagha Leader, Oluku Humphrey to Burry Mother, Esther Oluku, May 22.

The families of Oluku George and Prebor Igedibor of Odimodi Community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State have announced the passing of their matriarch, Late Mama Ayaba Esther Mrs Rose Ogoniawurubo Oluku (Nee Prebor), who died at the age of 79.
The deceased, described by family members as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and community figure, hailed from the Okeseh lineage in Dase Quarter, Ogulagha Community, and had strong family ties to Odimodi Community in Delta State as well as Amazor Community and Ndoro Town in Bayelsa State.
According to a funeral announcement jointly signed by Capt. Joseph Prebor (for the family) and Comrade Oluku Humphrey (for the children), a service of songs will hold on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Number One Zion Church, Ogulagha, between 3:00pm.
The body is expected to depart Ame Specialist Hospital on Friday, May 22, 2026, by 8:00am for Odimodi Town through Miller Waterside, Warri.
Lying-in-state and funeral service by Cherubim and Seraphim Church (Seidougha Zion), Odimodi, will follow by 9:30am at the residence of Capt. Joseph Prebor. Interment will follow immediately at the Odimodi Community Cemetery. The funeral activities will continue with entertainment of guests at 1:30pm, while a social wake keep is scheduled for 8:00pm till dawn.
A thanksgiving service is billed for Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Number One Zion Church, Ogulagha.
The family members prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased, noting that her life of service, love, and commitment to family and community would continue to be remembered by all who knew her.

Amb. Tom Willy Congratulates Kestin Pondi on PhD Achievement

Amb. Tom Ebiakpo Willy has congratulated High Chief Engr. Kestin Pondi on his successful attainment of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Public Administration from the University of Benin.
In a congratulatory message, Amb. Willy described the academic achievement as well deserved, noting that it reflects Pondi’s dedication to knowledge acquisition, excellence and service to humanity.
He said the milestone should serve as an inspiration for greater contributions to leadership, societal development and the advancement of the Niger Delta and the wider society.
“Congratulations, High Chief Engr. Kestin Pondi, on your well-deserved accomplishment of a PhD in Public Administration from the University of Benin,” Willy stated.
He further wished the newly conferred scholar continued success, expressing optimism that his academic accomplishment would strengthen his capacity to make meaningful contributions to leadership and development.
Amb. Willy concluded by congratulating High Chief Engr. Kestin Pondi once again on the significant academic milestone.
